So Many Products!

I recently was on a good streak and got into various different campaigns through chickadvisor and influenster. For those of you who don't know what these are, let me briefly break it down for you. I will have more indepth details in another post. These two companies have different brand campaigns that allow consumers to try product from specific brands for free. In return, consumer must either give honest feedbacks or share on social media about what they're trying. So essentially marketing for the companies. I got into the biore voxbox with influenster, the dove campaign and the garnier campaign.

Let's start off with biore. The biore voxbox included two new products that biore is releasing this season. The baking soda pore cleanser and the baking soda cleansing scrub. Both uses baking soda as one of its key ingredients. What intrigued me most was the cleansing scrub. It comes in a powder form and when you go to use it, you pour about a quarter size onto your hands, add water and then apply to your face. I found that it isnt good to use on a daily basis as it dries out the skin. However, it works really well. It may seem that because the baking soda is so fine, it wouldn't work as well but it does. And I love the design of the packaging and how you can pop the top open and shut with one hand.

The garnier campaign was one that I was really interestes in receiving. Particularly the moisturizer. I love the added benefit that it has uv protection and helps to brighten the skin. The micellar water was great. It took off make up with ease and left my face feeling soft.

The dove campaign came with 5! Different products. A shampoo and conditioner, a holding spray, a dry shampoo and a hair oil. Im most excited for the oil and the dry shampoo :P God knows if I can get away with it I would go days without washing my hair. The dry shampoo really helps me to keep my hair looking clean.

S+L Masterchef's Kitchen

If any of you follow Masterchef Canada, you will know that the winner of season two was David Jorge from my very own Surrey, BC. I was rooting for him the entire season, and he was very deserving of this win. Since then, I've been waiting for the moment he'd open up his own restaurant. That moment happened late last month. David partnered with Joseph Richard Group to open S+L They had a lot of social media advertising in prep for this and when they released the menu, my wallet cried a little. The price tier for S+L is on the high end to say the least. It definitely isn't somewhere I'd be able to go often. However, they did have buck-a-shuck happy hours Monday - Friday 2 - 5 pm. Because the beau usually works M-F, we took the opportunity on Family Day, this past Monday to go try it out.

We arrived shortly before 2 and was seated prompt. I really liked the design of the place. It felt very classy. Our server was very diligent and greeted us promptly as well. She offered us water three ways, cucumber water, *forgot the other*, and regular water. We just stuck with the regular. We knew that we wanted to order oysters but beau also wanted to try the Master Chicken, which was supposedly what won David his title so we had that as well. We ordered 2 dozen oysters along with the chicken. The oysters were denman island oysters and they were amazing. I never really liked eating raw oysters, but in the recent years have really grown to love it. The Master Chicken came with mashed potatoes and corn. It was a perfect combination. I found the chicken to be slightly too salty, but that matched perfectly with the mash because it compensated for the light flavour of it. The portion sizes were decent too. So really there isn't much complaints *besides the price*.

I really enjoyed this meal. I can see myself coming back for special occasions such as anniversaries or birthday, but I can't see me coming back for any other reason. Besides perhaps buck-a-shuck.

Try the place yourself and let me know how you liked it!

I'm a Panda!

On my recent trip to Japan and Hong Kong, I did a massive beauty mask shopping haul. It is all the rage with some having different designs on the mask, purely for fun and aesthetics. Out of the different brands I purchased,  I bought a panda faced one made by SNP. SNP is a korean beauty company. They have tons of different masks available. This one that I bought focuses on whitening.

On the front of the package, it advertises, whitening mask to restore dull and rough skin with brightening energy delivering luminosity and softness.

When I first opened the package I could tell it was overloaded with serum. And I was right. After removing the mask from the package the package was still heavy from the serum, which I set aside. I applied the mask after cleansing and toning my face. It asked that I leave it on 15-20 minutes, however I like to leave it on longer and kept it on for 30 min. Which was about the duration of my show, Criminal Minds. After which I removed the mask and let the rest of the serum absorb.
I found that while the serum was great and left my skin feeling more buoyant and refreshed, the serum had a sticky residue that I'm not quite fond of. I applied the rest of the serum the following day and patted it into the skin. The panda was cute but pointless and I dont think I would spend the extra money again for an animal om my face. All in all, it was a great mask. I would definitely recommend
